Maximum Monster Jam on itch.IO

I really like game jams.  It's fun to see what others create in such a short amount of time and it's great for me to push myself to create something new and learn more about game design and programming.  The thematic constraints are great for me too as they push me to expand the box of my design thinking.

That said, I've only entered four game jams on itch.IO so far and of those: two outright failed...bad design and poor implementation.  One I was able to complete, but the game itself is not at all fun.  This one, though...this one I am proud of.

The theme is Maximum Monster and we've had a month to create a game about monsters.  I'll admit, the game I am going to submit is so very different that what I imagined on day one.  That's part of the fun though, adapting and changing to new ideas.

This blog will chronicle the design through the game jam, hopefully give a few tips to those approaching a game jam themselves and also push through the jam into hopefully creating a fully releasable game.
